Society of St Paul

ST PAULS is an activity of the Priests and Brothers of the Society of Saint Paul. Founded in Italy in 1914 by Father (now Blessed) James Alberione, we have a special mission of evangelization through the mass media. Our members are known as the Paulines.

The Society of Saint Paul was approved officially by the Holy See on June 27, 1949. Our mission is to "evangelize with the modern tools of communications". It is made up of religious priests and lay consecrated (called Disciples of the Divine Master). We are present in five continents in more than 40 countries.

Father James Alberione, in the footsteps of Saint Paul to become one for all, has, besides the Society of Saint Paul, founded four congregations:

  • Daughters of St. Paul
  • Sister Disciples of the Divine Master
  • Sisters of Jesus the Good Shepherd
  • Sisters of Mary Queen of Apostles

and four associated institutes:

  • Jesus the Priest
  • Saint Gabriel the Archangel
  • Our Lady of the Anunciation
  • Holy Family

as well as the Association of Pauline Cooperators.

Together, they constitute the Pauline Family.
