The short life of Jacinta Marto, the youngest of the three privileged youngsters who were the bearers of Mary’s message of peace to the world at Fatima, is portrayed here with a charm and simplicity that cannot but endear her to the hearts of all who read it. Over a period of many months, she listened as Mary spoke of the horror of sin, the need for penance, prayer, the recitation of the Rosary, the practice of the Five First Saturdays in her honor and the consecration of Russia and the world to her Immaculate Heart if the world is to find the peace it so desperately needs. The extraordinary wisdom and maturity of this little ten-year-old are perhaps no more vividly illustrated than in her willingness to undergo great suffering out of love for God and the salvation of souls. She died alone and unattended, comforted only by the promise that heaven awaited her at the end of her brief life. Her heroic sanctity, her practices of penance and her love for all serve as an inspiration to those who seek to follow her example by putting Mary’s Plan for Peace into practice. This updated edition covers Jacinta’s beatification on May 13, 2000 and the Pope’s decision to reveal the Third Secret of Fatima.
